This is an apt name for a Stag’s Leap wine, as deer were the only animals held sacred to Artemis, and she is often depicted with stags. It was named for the Greek Goddess of the hunt, forest and moon, Artemis. The first vintage of Artemis Cabernet Sauvignon was produced in 2001. I am always fascinated with names on wine labels and their backstories. Enjoy this wine with grilled steak, short ribs, pasta with red marinara, and roasted vegetables. The grapes are meticulously sourced from various estate vineyards within the Napa Valley. Flavors are of plums, dark chocolate and toasted oak.
